Missing Isha Salah
Q: I am always missing Isha because it’s so late. I wake up at 5am everyday (plus multiple times in the night as my daughter is young) and I really can’t stay up for Isha.
Is it permissible to combine Maghrib & Isha in this instance?
A:
You have a few options.
1. You can’t join in the Hanafi School, so you can sleep after maghrib and make up the Isha prayer when you wake up or perform it when your daughter wakes you in the night.
2. Some Shafi’i and Maliki scholars allow combining if the person lives in extreme northern latitudes and Isha becomes very late (or does not enter) in midsummer.
3. If the time of Isha is absent and does not enter (as above). Then you can combine according to the Hanafi School.
